How can I remove/treat this forehead vein? (U.K. / Los Angeles) (Photo)

Question

I'm looking for a doc in London (UK) or Los Angeles area to treat/remove this vein. It has appeared gradually over the past 12 months and looks like a severe scar. It feels indented and hard most of the time but bulges when bending down. I've had CT scan & ultrasound which and there's no bone deformity. What treatments would be appropriate? Have you ever seen a sunken vein before? Docs didn't believe me that it was a vein until I had the scans! It's affecting me mentally so I'd like to fix it :(

Thank you for the question! It is rather difficult to fully assess your situation without an in-person exam.   Treating this particular area requires a great deal of finesse so I would recommend doing your research to go with an experienced board-certified specialist. Sclerotherapy remains the golden standard. This treatment uses a sclerosing solution that causes the vein to shrink. Usually it takes only 1 to 2 sessions to achieve fading of the undesirable veins.  
An in-person exam with a board-certified plastic surgeon is the best way to assess your needs and obtain expert medical advice. Best of luck!

The pictures posted do not show a vein very clearly.  It is normal for forehead veins to enlarge when bending down.  Prominent forehead veins can usually be treated by sclerotherapy but they need to be large enough so that a needle could be put into them to treat them.
