I had a seroma on the left breast that was aspirated 3 times in the month after my op 2 years ago. Since then no problems except sensation has changed to more sensitive. Now since a few weeks the left breast has a burning sensation all the time. It is a little swollen compared to the right one but it has always been slightly bigger. I have Sebbin microtextured implants subglandular. Any known cases of ALCL with these implants? What could this pain be? Rupture?
Answer: Breast implants having a history of a seroma and now experiencing pain I would go back to your surgeon and ask him ALCL. It could be a tear and a MRI would show this.

Answer: Seroma and Breast Implants Usually when we hear burning sensation, we constribute it to nerve pain. However, given your history of seroma formation and textured implants do have a higher risk of seroma formation, then I would consult with your plastic surgeon to evaluate your breasts and implants.Although BIA-ALCL is extremely rare, there has been a resurgence of it in the media and I would want to make certain that everything is clear from that standpoint.Hope that helps.

Answer: Painful 2 years after breast implants You should definitely check back with your Board Certified plastic surgeon for an in-person evaluation. This could be something as simple as over-exertion leading to soreness that will be self-limiting or implant rupture even though your implants are not old. However, anytime you notice a change such as this, it’s best not to ignore it. Your PS can order imaging studies to see what’s happening in there and send any fluid around your implant for examination to determine if ALCL is present. ALCL is extremely rare so don’t focus too much on that leading up to your appointment. Best of luck to you!
