What happens to cauterized breast implant capsule?

I understand your concern. The cauterized part of the capsule will form a new scar tissue as it heals. 
If you are concerned, you should speak with your plastic surgeon and discuss your concerns. Lastly, follow your plastic surgeons post-operative instructions and advice for faster healing and recovery.

In the setting of submuscular augmentation, the posterior surface of the capsule is adherent to the chest wall. Attempting to peel all of it off of the surface of the rib can be difficult and dangerous (When particularly adherent). The alternative is to cauterize or destroy the residual tissue. The thermal damage will then be repaired by the body replaced by scar.As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).

Your surgeon was entirely correct in not trying to get all of the scar capsule off the ribs as this can lead to punctured lung (pneumothorax) which could even be fatal if unrecognized and properly treated. The small amount of scar is harmless to you and burning it up (cautery) will obliterate the part that was in direct contact with the implant. Your body will mop that up and replace it with new scar tissue.
