Hi there, I had mid cheek filler done as I was flat and now the filler has settled it looks like I have lumps where it was placed. One my under eyes look like I’ve had bad tear trough done. Has the filler leaked into my tear trough? What do I do?
Answer: Recommend dissolving area Filler migration, swelling, and granulomas can cause significant discomfort and cosmetic ramifications. Our office specializes in the use of enzymes and filler reversal techniques without hyaluronidase to help improve the results of botched cosmetic fillers, whether caused by Juvederm, Restylane, or foreign fillers. Our plastic surgery institute provides expertise in filler removal. We begin by examining the facial fillers and assessing the likelihood of fluctuance or liquid volumization. If appropriate, we use Hylenex, or other filler reversal agents to reduce swelling and filler migration. Hylenex can be targeted into the areas of concern using multiple layered injection techniques. If the filler does not completely resolve, then additional concentrations may be employed. The technique has the potential to reduce the filler and may slightly impact normal hyaluronic acid. Treatments are repeated and results can improve immediately and with time. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Cheek filler Hello and thank you for your question. This depends when you had treatment - we would advise 2-4weeks for filler to settle after injection as it takes time to integrate. If you re unhappy it's best to see your original injector and it can be dissolved if needed. I hope that answers your question and please always seek a qualified and experienced medical professional for treatment, best wishes

Answer: Hyaluronidase Bruising, swelling, sometimes discoloration, lumps, and bumps are normal side effects assuming proper injection. They should be gone in a matter of days. In general, if it continues to feel uncomfortable up to this time, consult your doctor to get a complete assessment or have the filler dissolved if filler is still left.

Answer: Filler bulging in the tear trough Looks like the filler has accumulated in the tear trough. It needs to be dissolved using a reversal agent like Hylenex. After it is successfully dissolved you can be reassessed to see how to best treat this area. I prefer a filler product with a low G prime, such as Juvederm Volbella. It is a really soft product for this area and doesn't pull too much water and create that worm like bulge. I prefer using a cannula to carefully and safely inject the product and by using a fanning technique. Less is more as well. I prefer to undertreat this area and gradually add more if needed at subsequent appointments. I often suggest that the cheeks be injected to help lift the mid face and that will also improve the appearance of this are.
