Can you get lip fillers while pregnant?

Thank you for your question.The products that are used for lip injections have not been studied during pregnancy.  I would avoid getting filler until after your pregnancy.

The companys of these fillers does not specify, but I would wait if it where myself. You don't want to put foreign things into your body while creating some thing so precious.

Lip filler is made with materials that sometimes have equivalence to human tissues and sometimes do not2. Hyaluronic acid filler or your own fat are probably safest3. Local anesthesia is used for most filler injections and so your fetus may get exposed to these medications4. Many filler are grown in bacterial media which means there may be some cross-reactivity in your blood that your fetus is exposed to.5. Fillers are not tested on pregnant women, so there really is no safety data available6.
