Would Invisalign solve my overjet / openbite? What orthodontic treatment plan is best for me? (Photo)

Question

Hi, I'm 24 and had metal fixed braces when I was 12 years old. My teeth have moved and I have a 7mm overjet. I have visited an orthodontist for consultation. I was sent a treatment plan for full invisalign and interproximal reduction. l asked how much my overjet would be reduced by. I want a normal bite so my teeth don't stick into my lower lip. They have now revised my treatment plan which will most likely involve Temporary Anchorage Devices and extractions which is much more complex! Help, any advice?

I will do my best to answer your question with the information provided.Your case appears to be a more complex, but Invisalign is definitely an option for you. First of all, I am not an orthodontist and your case is not the run of
the mill case.  But I can say this, you
have a very narrow arch form and palatal expansion would surely help.  By making your palate wider, that would
create more room to move the teeth backward. 
How much, I am not certain. 
Invisalign is very good at this and I would seek a second opinion from
an Invisalign certified general dentist or orthodontist.  Spending a little money upfront for consultation
could save a lot of grief down the road.

Hi, it seems from your photos that you have moderate crowding and increased overjet. Invisalign can be used to help you get a better occlusion and a better smile. You would need a bit of inter proximal reduction to solve the crowding. You can avoid extractions and have a correction, if thats what you want. You can request your dentist for a smile evaluation and orthodontic simulation to help you decide.
