I was born with a club foot, (congenial club foot - ccf); my right foot was turned inwards meaning I would have walked unnaturally. When I was a few months old I had an operation to fix this which was successful; I now walk perfectly normally. However, the result is my right leg is considerably skinnier than the left. I think the club foot has given my leg muscle atrophy? What options are available & can this be done on the NHS as this is as a result of a birth defect? What are the costs?

Dear NikkiClarke123,
it is unlikely that your insurance will cover the costs of calf implants. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

Thanks for your question! It is difficult to know the correct plan without examining you myself and understanding the extent to your nerve damage. For many patients, calf implants are a great way to instantly increase lower leg volume. Make sure you consult with a board certified plastic surgeon.
