What can be done to minimize the appearance of a raised alarplasty scar? over 1 year post op (photo)

How do I get rid of this raised, ropey scar that is a result of an alarplasty? The scar appeared about 6 months after alarplasty and is now a year and a half old. The scar was itchy at first and had pain, but now it no longer does. I have used silicone gel and silicone scar strips but I’m looking for something that will give more cosmetic improvements.

You are a good candidate for alar excision which can be done awake under local anesthesia. Just be aware that not all surgeons like doing alar excisions and some are very conservative when they do it. So choose your surgeon carefully

Based on your photos, I don't see a very big change in the appearance of your nostrils. You may be a bit asymmetrical where your columella meets your upper lip.
