How much would this arm lift cost? (photos)

Hi Nollie77, Thank you for your question and pictures regarding the cost of an arm lift or brachioplasty in New Jersey.  In regards to the arm lift, I usually perform arm lifts under general anesthesia in a surgery center.  For my patients, the arm lift procedure is an out-patient procedure and therefore, an overnight stay is not necessary.  For me, the arm lift procedure takes about 3 to 4 hours to perform.  The arm lift procedure involves both arm liposuction and resection of upper arm skin.  In regards to finding out the cost of an arm lift in Union City, first, I would start with Realself.  The Realself website lists the average price for an arm lift or brachioplasty in your area.  The cost for an arm lift varies by geographic region, complexity of your particular case, cost of the operating room, your anesthesiologist's fee, and your plastic surgeon's fee.  Second, I would do your research.  I would suggest a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery with full admitting privileges to a nearby hospital.  Third, I would interview at least 3 plastic surgeons.  I would ask to see their "before and after" pictures of arm lifts or brachioplasties.  They should be able to show you pictures of at least 100 different arm lift patients.  Ask to see this many patients pictures.  If they cannot show you this many patients, for whatever reason, I would consider consulting with a different plastic surgeon.  You may even want to consider flying to another state for your arm lift or brachioplasty.  Revisions and complications due to an inexperienced plastic surgeon can be devastating and costly.  If you have any other questions regarding an arm lift or brachioplasty, please contact my office. photograph, you are a candidate for an arm lift.  Cost varies based on geographic region and surgeon expertise. 
Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of
real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate
their results.  The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are
comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified
board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

When it comes to costs of surgery, there may be many “variables” involved. The specific surgeon's credentials/experience level (or lack thereof), the specific geographic area you are looking at, the different operations available, the location of the procedure (quality of surgery facility), type/quality of anesthesia provide… are some of the potential variables involved. You will find some average costs of surgery listed on this website and on individual plastic surgeons' websites as well.
In regards to outcome of the planned procedure, more important than costs of the procedures will be careful selection of your plastic surgeon. I would suggest starting with the American Society of Plastic Surgery and/or the Aesthetic Society of Plastic Surgery to obtain a list of well experienced board-certified plastic surgeons.
Then, I would suggest you visit a few surgeons whose practices concentrate on aesthetic surgery. Ask to see lots of examples of their work and preferably speak/see patients who have had similar procedures done.  You may also find the attached link, dedicated to arm lifting surgery concerns, helpful to you as you learn more. If you don't personally know someone who has been through surgery, the best place to start is on the internet. You have already done that by coming to this site. Then, from this site, you should find a couple surgeon that are board certified and seem very experienced with plenty of photos. The surgery would be outpatient so you would go home the same day. The cost varies from place to place but could range from $6000-$10000.

Based on your pictures alone, you appear to be a good candidate for a brachioplasty (arm lift). There are some choices: liposuction alone to remove fat but no skin tightening, limited skin excision procedures to hide the scar in the armpit and larger skin excision procedures that require an incision from the armpit to the elbow. A consultation would be necessary to understand your concerns and expectations to better select the ideal procedure for you as well as to discuss the cost for the procedures. Best wishes!
