What can damage your nose other than direct trauma to your nose? For example, if I get my heart rate up early post-op rhinoplasty operation how it can affect my final result? Also, If I have sex after a few days post-op and my heart rate goes up will it ruin my final result?
Answer: How to ruin your rhinoplasty results The primary cause of a ruined rhinoplasty would be a direct trauma to the nose. As long as you avoid that, your nose should heal nicely. I also recommend following your doctor's post-op instructions to the letter, as these are designed to minimize bruising and swelling while ensuring the incision heals well. Keep in mind that it takes a significant amount of time for all the swelling after a rhinoplasty to subside. This means you won't see your final outcome for up to 12 months after your surgery. Be patient, take care of your nose as instructed, and avoid activities where the nose might get hit. Those simple steps will provide the best possible result for you.

Answer: "How to protect your Rhinoplasty procedure result during recovery/healing process: simple and easy" Considering a Rhinoplasty, Aesthetic and or functional involves that the surgeon has analyzed properly your particular features and has selected the best techniques based on your anatomical, gender, job, age, etc.in order to achieve the improvement in charm and harmony for the results "fit" on your personality and have a natural, elegant look, preserving the basic function: to breath normally. We can say that, if properly performed, Rhinoplasty just can be affected by 3 factors:1.) To be impatient and try to look the results as fast as a "hair cut". This means, we have experienced patients(mostly male ones, gotta say) patients who remove the cast and patch as early as 3-5 days after procedure, even though they are STRONGLY WARNED NOT TO TOUCH THE NOSE by 1-3 months.Fortunately, in our hands, results are almost ready to social exposure in between 12-21 days after. The tape patch is important within 2-3 weeks after as it is an external support to the sutures, bones, cartilages to heal. By routine, we ask patients to keep it by 2 weeks(average).2.) DO NOT TOUCH YOUR NOSE: for the same reason(anatomy has been modified surgically and needs proper time to heal and adopt it's new shape) structures are attached with sutures or biological glue or external splint(bones) and are very fragile to "break" or "move" to an undesired shape or side. External sutures are removed by the surgeon and the internal ones are absorbable. In case that swelling from inside or crusts os dried mucus do not allow you to breath totally normal, you can use camomile tea(not hot or cold, ambiental temp is Ok and apply drops on each nasal pore/fosa continuously as it has anti inflammatory properties. there will be a day, that the crust will come out alone or during a sneeze( sneezing are not a problem meanwhile you don't hit your nose )3.) In this COVID era, we are using special designed nose/mouth masks because the standard ones can make your tip of the nose "flat" if external compression is not properly controlled. Face shields are the best solution.

Answer: Ruining rhinoplasty result A rhinoplasty result is really not very fragile; in other words, it takes a lot to ruin it. Other than getting hit in the nose with a beer bottle (or similar force), your result won't change. Obviously, some activities may delay the resolution of swelling (being upside doing yoga), but even that will not affect the long term result. I tell my patients that they may resume unrestricted activity after 3 weeks, with the exception of basketball or soccer or activities where direct nasal trauma is likely.
