Its is on the front of the hairline and is in the rough shape of the letter "M" I am worried that this patch is lagging so far behind the rest of my hair as this has all grown in at the same time

It may take 6 to 12 months to see the results.  If you are concerned about your progress you should follow up with your doctor.

This could be for many reasons including accidently rubing or scratching your scalp the first few days while sleeping.  Sometimes, some parts of the scalp just do not take grafts even when no scratched. Regardless, a small touch up may be worth considering at the 1 year mark.

Generally, I tell patients to wait at least 8 months, but if there is slow growth to wait a full 10 months. Irregular growth is not uncommon, at times I see the front or the crown grow faster than the other. Sometimes it is the right side or the left side that grows faster. By the 10th month, if you still have a problem, go back to your doctor and ask about the problem
