My two front teeth are uneven, what can I do to fix this? I rarely smile, avoid social situations, help! (Photo)

The answer is "yes" that you can shave down the edges of the teeth and whiten, but the result will be shorter teeth.  To keep the teeth within the "golden proportions" (fibbonacci numbers, or phi matrix), then normally you need the teeth to be LONGER.There is a limit to how much shaving should be done, as the dentin (the yellow part of the tooth underneath the enamel) will be exposed and can become sensitive.  Just "a little" shaved (closer to a polish) is likely not an issue, but more than that is risky.As far as pricing, each office will be different. Usually when it comes to cosmetics, cheaper isn't better (but neither is extremely expensive).  It takes homework to find a dentist that is trained in cosmetics and can give you what you want, but the investment will be worth the time and money spent.

Veneers would give you the best possible even and symmetric result. Consider 4 or 8. 6 is never really recommended because it will dramatically narrow your smile. Do not have them shaved down because they will look worn and make your smile look older. You need to add length and even them out, not take away. At first glance my recommendation would be a whitening and veneers. Good luck!
