Can't close my lips naturally, overbite issue due to veneers placed straight on slightly inverted teeth.What can be done?(photo)

Hello there,The best option that can see from a dental standpoint is to consider having them redone with the goal of making them much slimmer or cutting the prep deeper to allow the veneers to appear less bulky.  Either way, you would have to have new veneers made.  However, before making any adjustments, I would recommend giving yourself a few more weeks to see if you will physically compensate for this naturally. It is normal for your lips to take a short amount of time to get used to the new restorations, however, your veneers do look like they are too long. It looks as though they are digging into your lower lip.  They also look slightly opaque and bulky.  It is important to have veneers done by someone who is very experienced in cosmetics.  I would go back to your dentist and tell him your concerns.  He may be able to reduce the length slightly, and polish the facial surfaces to allow your lip to fall more naturally.  If you are not satisfied with your end result, get a second opinion.  Do your research and find a dentist that has been doing veneers for a long time, and has photos for you to see.

It appears the flare is an issue.  To fix this may require opening the bite to allow the teeth to be more vertical.  However, the fee will be significantly more, as ALL the upper teeth will need to be restored/crowned/veneered. Many dentists are are untrained to do this.
