Salt after tummy tuck: what are the risks? Is it just swelling for a longer period or could it leave me with more excess skin ?

I'm two weeks post standard tummy tuck ( no MR or lipo) . I was asked my my ps to Not wear a binder. I know the advise is to eat low salt food only. I have been a very fussy eater all my life. I have a very limited diet and avoiding salt is really difficult. What are the risks. Is it just swelling for a longer period or could it leave me with more excess skin ?
