What will fade SMP?

ive had smp done and i love it , i am treating with kid gloves though , i machine shave it wash and moisturise every day , i want to go swimming but worry certain chemicals will fade it , is there anything apart from the sun you recommend to avoid , or can i just treat it as if it where real .

Scalp Micropigmentation SMP will fade with time and ultraviolet light exposure.  The quality of the pigment and the work will also be a factor.

Natural affects such as sunlight, high exposure over time including chlorinated swimming pools. But also the quality of the pigment used and how it is applied to your skin. As well as your natural skin characteristics including if the pigment is being placed in to scar tissue.

SMP pigment fades with sun exposure, chlorine pools and ocean salt water. The small particles of salt may accelerates fading of each dot. Wearing a hat and a swimming cap is highly recommended.
