5'7" 145lbs (170cm, 65kg). With a breast augmentation, I'd like to gain some fullness. I know some surgeons would recommend a lift, but I'm not interested in that yet. What are your expert opinions about results I might be able to expect? Are there any particular shapes, sizes, or types of implants I should look at?

Answer: Breast implants without a lift? Hello, Thank you for the question and the photos. Based on your photos, you appear to be an excellent candidate for breast augmentation and it may be performed without a breast lift, however, it is difficult to tell definitively without an in-person examination. Implant size discussion and implant selection is one of the most important steps during your consultation with plastic surgeon. The decision-making process depends on your desires, as well as breast and soft tissue dimensions of your chest wall. I would seek an in-person evaluation by the Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon, in order to discuss your goals and concerns for the best cosmetic results. I hope this helps. Answer: Breast implants are best for volume. Today, smooth, round is the best option. You do have some sagging, but not enough that you have to have a lift. Anatomical or teardrop implants were popular in the past, but in the U.S. are almost totally abandoned. The reasons are (1) they are usually textured, which can cause a rare cancer called BIA-ALCL, and (2) round implants work great and avoid the problem of rotation of the implant. So your best bet is smooth, round, high profile implants, either silicone or saline. Studies have failed to show an aesthetic advantage for shaped implants.
