I'd like to improve my chin projection from the front, 3/4 and profile view. If there is a surgery/ surgeon that does an augmented simulation of this prior to the surgery in consultation to demonstrate possible end results this would be much appreciated. I do have oversized lips, which I genuinely love but would like to get them more proportional to the lower third of my face. I wonder if I'd need a lip reduction before or after, or if chin augmentation will be sufficient in balancing my face
Answer: 3D imaging for chin augmentation Thank you for your question and sharing your photographs. It is possible to do computer simulation on simple photographs but I do find that 3D imaging brings more depth to the planning for chin augmentation. This is primarily because it allows you to explore this three-quarter view with the same level of accuracy as profile and front view. 3D imaging is available with a number of surgeons around the UK and it seems like the right approach for understanding your goals and planning possible changes.

Answer: Non-Surgical Chin Augmentation with Injectable Fillers -- Radiesse, Sculptra, Surgical Implants, See an Expert "A formal evaluation would be needed to determine what's best. Many of my patients try to avoid surgery, so we perform a non-surgical chin augmentation treatment with injectable fillers. Fillers like Radiesse, Voluma, BellaFill as well as Sculptra are injected into the area, improving the overall appearance of the lower face and balancing the jaw and lip harmony. We use cannula injections to meticulously contour and project the chin, soften the chin along the jawline and improve the chin crease. Implants are still a great option once you are 100% positive that you are ready for a permanent enhancement. I suggest getting a consultation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist and facial sculpting expert; our practice is located right here in Los Angeles. Best, Dr. Emer"

Answer: How you may benefit from a chin implant Thank you for submitting your question and photos. You appear to be a candidate for chin augmentation with a custom-fit implant to bring your facial proportions into balance. A silicone implant would be ideal as it is easy to customize to your precise facial proportions. It would be best to assess the final results of your chin implant before considering changes to your lip shape and fullness, though this can be addressed with another surgery. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon. They will be able to discuss your aesthetic goals with you and use 3D imaging to help you determine if this procedure may be right for you.

Answer: successful chin augmentation Thank you so much for asking that question. You have a beautiful overall facial appearance and a properly performed chin augmentation procedure could certainly enhance your profile view. Silicone based chin implants are extremely safe and have been FDA approved for over 50 years. Unlike breast implants they do not have any of the problems like capsular contracture, migration or have to be replaced. I love using an internal incision so there's no external scar. I recommend you see a board certified plastic surgeon with extensive training in facial aesthetics. Wishing you the best good luck

Answer: Chin implant The simplest surgery for this problem is chin augmentation with an implant. Once the swelling has worn off (1-1.5 years after), you can reassess the need for lip reduction.
