Five Years Post Tummy Tuck Belly Button Fix - What Can Be Done? (Photos)

I had a tummy tuck with lipo (and breast lift with fat transfer) in the fall of 2021, almost 5 years ago and I have been ashamed to show my tummy ever since. Ten months after surgery, the surgeon repaired my belly button and a dog ear on my hip and did additional lipo. My belly button is still such an ugly noticeable scar and there are areas on my tummy that are bumpy and uneven. I dont know what procedure to look into to fix this? Is it surgical or non surgical (Laser? Cool sculpting?) My profile name was Project Bikini and I still haven’t been able to wear one confidently! I’d really love to get this fixed before my 25th anniversary August 2027. Any suggestions on what to book?

Thank you for sharing your photos. The irregular, uneven appearance of your abdominal skin looks like fibrosis after liposuction. This can develop after revision procedures, when too much fat is removed, or when energy based devices such as Vaser, laser, or plasma are used, and smoking can also contribute. Unfortunately there is no treatment that fully reverses fibrosis, but a radiofrequency device such as Venus Legacy is worth trying, and I want to emphasize that it does not involve needles. In addition, fat injection into the irregular areas or PRP to improve skin quality can be tried. I would also like to point out that the forward fullness of your abdomen on side view is most likely due to laxity between the abdominal muscles. The diastasis may not have been repaired during your previous tummy tuck, or if it was repaired with temporary sutures it may have recurred. These treatments will not correct that bulging appearance, and it may also be the reason your belly button looks so prominent. This can only be confirmed by physical examination.
