There is a hole at the bottom of my nipple with a white wire. What could this be? Just under a year post-op

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

I suspect it is a permanent stitch that is poking out and not an actual wire. Go back to your surgeon and he/she can remove it/.

Hi and welcome to our forum!Without a photo, it is hard to tell. The wire is most likely a suture. If you underwent a lollipop or full pattern breast lift, it most likely represents a retained suture, which can usually easily be extracted. If you underwent a Benelli (periareolar) lift, it may the suture which prevents the spreading and enlargement of the areola. In either case, keep the area clean and seek reevaluation by your plastic surgeon.Best wishes...
