I walked into a sharp object sticking out of a truck in a parking lot on May 17, 2023. The redness is gone but now I'm stuck with a large white scar. I know I won't ever be able to remove this scar but what can I do to help stimulate/regenerate the white skin area of the scar?
Answer: Scar Good morning! There are a few options for you. Any treatment/device that will cause skin remodeling and stimulate collagen will help to blend the scar, such as microneedling/RF microneedling, dermabrasion, laser resurfacing. Definitely want to apply sun screen daily as well.

Answer: Laser treatment can help bring color back into the scar Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started. Answer: For Hypopigmented Scars: Professional Manual Microneedling Accompanied By Rx Pigment Enhancers First, I am sorry that this happened to you. Second, the ideal window of time for achieving maximal improvement when treating incipient scars is between week four and week twelve following the injury (or surgery, or acne, or chickenpox). It is now closer to sixteen weeks, so I would suggest consulting with board certified cosmetic dermatologist scar specialist asap. I have had success in treating hypopigmented scars from all causes employing manual microeedling (no need for the additional expense and risks of RF microneedling) accompanied by the topical application of prescription pigment enhancing agents, such as topical tyrosine and lanatoprost. Hope this helps, and good luck.
