i've been on Finastride for over 6 months now and the results were better than i imagined, i was losing no hair and actually regrowing some as i took picture every day. my doctor also gave me minoxidil and i had to stop after two weeks of use. Now that i stopped i'm losing more hair than ever. is it like temporary reaction? sex: male age: 19

Yes, there is an initial hair shed with Minoxidil and this is temporary. Keep in mind, it takes 6 months to see results with Minoxidil. I  recommend getting a formal evaluation with a hair loss expert to go over your condition and advise you on best treatment options and shampoo recommendations. There are great non-invasive options like prp/progesterone which works well with Minoxidil/Finasteride. Hair transplant is an alternative. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Minoxidil helps to stopping hair loss and thickening of hair although it may cause a little loss at beginning . I recommend you to use minox for at least 6 months to get any benefit. But remember that ıf you stop to use minox after a long time usage, you may experience a fast thinning, even loss of hair because of ending action of active ingredient. That phenomena leads people to a misconception that minoxidil causes hair loss after stopping to use it.

Minoxidil causes an immediate release of hairs that were supposed to come out in a few weeks but end up coming out early. For most people, it's temporary and the shed lasts less than 4 months. See  your physician if worried.

It is difficult to tell why you are losing hair as the hair loss clearly fits into a pattern that has happened before. See your doctor and get an examination
