If someone is taking oral isotretinoin for acne, they will not need to use tretinoin or any other topicals. In fact, using tretinoin during that time would make their skin extremely irritated and red given the fact that isotretinoin considerably dries out the skin. Tretinoin would only increase that.I hope this answer is helpful! Best of luck.
You did not say what you were wishing to treat. Isotretinoin (Acutane) has been used to treat Acne, though I know of almost no one who uses it any longer because of side effects. You should discuss this with the physician performing your injections. I typically tell my patients that they should wash their face the same day after treatment and restart any skin regimen the next morning - that would include Retin A. Some doctors recommend patient massage of the injected...
You need much more than retin A for antiaging, in my practice we do a combination of topical creams, peels, lasers and microneedling to prevent aging, treat large pores and pigmentation and improve complexion. Please see a cosmetic dermatologist with experience. Best, Dr. Emer.
