Thanks for the question and pic.  It appears that you are healing the area after some breakdown.  The area will eventually heal.  Be patient and keep in close contact with your board certified plastic surgeon. Best of luck. 

It appears that you have had some wound breakdown which can happen. With good wound care and time, you should have complete healing. 

relax it will be fine. you have a small area which given some local wound care will heal.  I personally see people weekly if this happens, take away what is not healthy and use some type of topical ointment  good luck

There is some wound dehiscence which will require local wound care for it to heal.  The healing will occur over many months.  Go back for another visit, this requires attention.

Thank you for your pictures.  Sorry about this slow healing progress.  It looks like it is making progress.  The yellow color reflects dried fluid and some unhealthy tissue.  Every plastic surgeon has his or her methods.  In my opinion, a removal of some of that unhealthy tissue would accelerate your healing.

It appears that you have a small separation of the incision but otherwise very nice results.  The separation occasionally happens due to the skin being under a lot of tension to make your abdomen completely flat and tight.  This should go on to heal well.  Avoid smoking and eat a high protein diet to help assist with more rapid healing and otherwise follow your doc's advice on wound care.  Best of luck in your healing process!

It does appear that a small part of your wound has opened up. That is relatively common and will go away with some wound care and time.  Follow your surgeon's advice and get regular visits to make sure you're healing on schedule.

Not to worry. No matter what you do this area will heal. If the scar is thickened after it heals it will be easy to revise in the office. However, in order to facilitate healing your surgeon may wish to cut away a small amount of that tissue, or do wet to dry dressings. Putting a moist gauze on the area, letting it dry, and then removing it at the end of the day helps remove dead tissue as it will stick to the gauze. These are just a couple of many wound care options. Of course, it is always best to listen to what your surgeon feels works best. As I said before, it will likely heal fine no matter what you do. Just keep it clean and be patient.

Abdominoplasty surgery also known as a tummy tuck, lifts skin and fatty tissue from your abdominal wall.  Redundant skin and soft tissue is excised and then tightens the remaining soft tissue.  To do this blood vessels are cut that supply the abdominal skin.  The area of your wound separation is commonly affected by decreased blood flow.  Wound healing can be compromised resulting in skin separation or even tissue death.  Your area of breakdown is small but is definitely at risk for infection should it be ignored.  I routinely debride obviously necrotic tissue with surgical dissection or wet-moist dressing changes. Eventually granulation tissue will develop that looks bright and red like a strawberry.  This will allow the wound to contract and shrink your tummy wound by a process called secondary healing. If cared for properly your wound will heal from the inside out and may ultimately require a minor scar revision.

You have had some necrosis of the skin and fat at the area under the most tension.  This will eventually heal in and probably end up looking okay.  If not, a scar revision may be in order.  It's important to keep this area clean and if I were your surgeon, I would have debrided some of the dead fat that is visible.  Keep in close contact with your surgeon.  BTW, your belly button looks great!  This is what will show in a swimsuit.
