Does it matter how long I wait to get next Kybella treatment?

Kybella typically takes 3 to 5 treatments to work. This is why I've stopped carrying Kybella in my office. I recommend neck liposuction more often then any injectable procedure for the neck now. It provides superior results gives me more control over the area than any injectable. It also costs about the same as what you paid for your first kybella session. The liposuction can be done under local while awake in the office and recovery is about the same as kybella.

I recommend spacing kybella treatments apart by at least 90 days. Waiting additional time should not affect your results.

you can wait longer for kybella but I would suggest facetite/lipo as more people want sculpting and defining that you typically will not see with kybella alone. add morpheus for more tightening.

most of my younger patients do buccal fat pad reduction, facetite/liposuction of the neck, and fillers to chin/cheeks/jawline/temples,  to give them a more chiseled face.  see my IG and links. at home derma-rolling should be started to Improve texture and tone and tightening along jawline (see link where we have a recommended daily skincare and weekly MTS + anteageMD derma-rolling protocol).

For facial slimming a combination of treatments are always needed. Options include:

1. Buccal fat pad removal to reduce fat on the lower face
2. Factite or Renuvion/J Plasma to tighten the lower face, jawline, and chin to reduce fat and give the jawline and neck tightening and shaping.
3. Botox to the masseter to reduce the muscular size of the jaw giving the face an illusion of being more slender
4. Fillers to the jawline, chin, cheeks, temples and brow help to shape the face and make it more angled and defined

most of my younger patients consider...
5. deep microneelding RF like morpheus every 2-3 months forever to further improvement tightening
6. early face/neck lift if you want a really tight contour and the most extreme improvement in jawline and neck shaping
7. threads, PDO or Instalift, after neck surgery/facetite to further improve the outcomes and give them long term collagen production and shaping
8. Thermage (radio frequency heating) and Ultherapy (ultrasound muscle tightening) yearly to prevent sagging in the future

if you want to wait four months for your next Kybella treatment, it won't affect your results. The recommended time to wait in between treatments is the minimum amount of time needed for recovery until you get your next treatment. You can wait four months until your next treatment, it will just take longer to see the full results.

For optimal results, you want to stick with the 6-8 week scheduling. The treatments build on each other and keep working for that period of time. Essentially, after the previous treatment has done its magic, you get another one and the magic keeps going. Waiting too long in between can prolong the number of treatments you will actually need, so if you can stick with the recommended schedule, you will get better results.

The 6-8 week recommendation between Kybella treatments is a guideline. It is the minimum recommended time to wait to allow healing and results before the next treatment. There is no downside to waiting longer, thus 4 months or even longer is fine.

You can wait whatever amount of time you’d like.

In reading your post I keep thinking to myself “why didn’t she just get Liposuction?”.
One treatment and results in a couple of weeks.
