Is it true that scar tissue contracting can cause the septum to shorten? Rhinoplasty/ septorhinoplasty

My surgeon said he did not shorten my nose (septum) but after the surgery my nose looks shorter. 11 weeks later it is even shorten than 2 weeks after surgery. Can this in theory be true? What can cause the nose to shorten during the healing phase?
