What complications does pancreatitis cause during and after liposuction?

Pancreatitis, especially coupled with chronic alcohol use, can be dangerous when coupled with any surgery and recovery. The pancreatitis itself can cause electrolyte and other metabolic abnormalities that can make anesthesia more risky. Furthermore, the decrease in oral intake related to the pancreatitis can lead to a catabolic state which complicates wound healing and recovery. I would ensure to stay off of the alcohol and without a bout of pancreatitis for at least six weeks prior to your procedure, but preferentially 3 months.

Anyone who has had recent pancreatitis for me currently have pancreatitis is in no shape to have cosmetic surgery.
Alcoholism to the point of causing pancreatitis should also be controlled with long-term abstinence before considering cosmetic surgery.
I suggest getting yourself healthy before thinking of cosmetic surgery.
Talk to your primary care doctor about your overall help and if you don’t have a recovery then consider going to a treatment center.
