Some Dr's prefer to cut the muscle and some do not for a bullhorn upper lip lift. I have been looking into getting an upper lip lift. Nervous about scarring but also best procedure type. Seems some doctors prefer to cut the muscle and some do not. This is very confusing. Is there a reason why? Pros and Cons? I'm not sure if I should avoid a certain method. Thanks.

There may be a specific reason for plasing incision inside the nostril sill vs. keeping it all out. In same cases, surgeon may think that it will make scar less noticable; in others it may be a way to transder muscle bulk underneath the nasal base, when needed. It is best to discuss this issue...
You should wait until result of jaw surgery is mature and settled (one year or even longer). Once that part is completed, your lip position, in rest and when smiling, should be evaluated and, if needed, lip lift performed. Good luck.
