Transplanted hair is not falling out or growing? I had my hair transplant in September 2012 (almost 1 yr 8 months).

I had my hair transplant in September 2012 (almost 1 yr 8 months). 2000 grafts it was for front line and to crown area. 60% off them shredded after transplant and start growing. but 40% of my hair have not fallen out and they are not even growing. I can feel all the transplanted hair with the same length of 2 mm(same as the day of transplantation).Could you let me know what may be the possible reason that my transplanted hair neither fallen out nor growing even after such a long time.

No growth after 1 year and 8 months means no growth.  Your surgery was likely a failure.  It is a good idea to follow up with your doctor for a recheck.

After hair transplant, the transplanted hairs generally shed in a few weeks and regrow to full length within 6-12 months. Consider following up with your surgeon to express your concerns!

You are still looking at the short hairs from the old grafts. That is not real hair and if you pull on them gentle with a forceps you will see that they will easily pull out. Have you considered that your hair transplant has failed? Go back to speak with your surgeon and ask.

Most of the growth happens between nine to twelve months after transplant. If you are experiencing poor growth you need to d o a follow up with your doctor for advise.

This is quite unusual to have only very short growth. You should first be evaluated by your surgeon. If he/she cannot give a satifactiry answer,  get a few more opinions.You may not get a ckear answer. Be sure to ask your surgeon for a copy of your operative records to bring with you.
