Breast implants 37 years ago - removed on 11/1/2013 still fatigued and depressed after 3 years.

Question

Since these implants were removed .. Dr, reported Ihad .granulomatous,He used Wise Pattern so little breast I have lift spread out flat. Removed nipples. and total removal of capsule. I have free floating silicone .It appeared there was granulomatous material dissected completley up to Axilla. He also said all the silicone in my body will never fully be removed and it will migrate and it will continue to migrate despite his best effort . Does this mean I will always have fatigue depression ,

Thank you for your questions. This is very difficult to answer and without knowledge of your medical and surgical history, no one can really offer conclusive answers. However, if the implants were removed but some of the silicone granulomas remain, then these can be hard to address. If you still feel like these are causing problems, then you may have to consider something as drastic as a mastectomy and total breast reconstruction to remove the remaining breast tissue and scar and replace it. The problem is that there is no way to associate the fatigue and depression with the silicone, so insurance would likely not approve this type of procedure for this indication. Wish I had better answers for you.....difficult situation.Best of luck!

I'm sorry you are experiencing these symptoms.  It is best for you to have a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon.  A complete medical history and current health history need to be explored in order to best help you.

Consult with an experienced board certified plastic surgeon for a evaluation.  Without knowledge of your medical history it is impossible to diagnose you online.  You may be a candidate for a mastectomy, as the symptoms you describe are extremely unusual.
