Can I have Picosure laser tattoo removal if I have a stretch mark? (photo)

I have a tattoo on my stomach that is black ink and 12 years old. After pregnancy, the tattoo formed some stretched skin and I wondered if I can still have it removed using Pico Laser technology. I'm concerned how the skin will look after and worried that the laser won't remove the tattoo fully.

Thanks for your question and photo. You can successfully treat the tattoo and the stretch mark may in fact see some improvement as well. The laser safely creates a controlled injury by destroying the ink and at the same time it is stimulating collagen in the affected area. Best of luck!

Yes, the Pico laser will remove your tattoo. The stretch mark will not effect the treatment or the result. In fact, the stretch mark may actually improve and reduce in size. Pico lasers have been used t reduce stretch marks

stretch marks do not interfere at all with the laser removal process. it will not make your stretch marks worse. the laser also stimulates the collage and elastic production in your skin so it may be helpful.david berman md
