I am so glad you are pleased with your results. It is reasonable to repeat ultherapy yearly or even every six months. Energy-based devices work by creating injury to the skin; the skin responds with wound healing and inflammation, and this creates a tightening effect. The reason for waiting is that you want your skin to have a chance to fully heal before challenging it again. You might also consider alternating with different kinds of energy-based treatments. The type of injury Ultherapy creates is tiny points at difference depths, as superficial as just under the top layer of the skin and as deep as the underlying supportive fascia. Laser and IPL-based treatments can work on the most superficial aspect of the skin. Radiofrequency works in the second layer of the skin (the dermis). We customize our treatments, and often combine them, based on which layer(s) are showing the most amount of aging. Taking blood pressure medication is not an issue with ultherapy. Medications that decrease wound healing and inflammation should be avoided. These include prednisone and otc anti-inflammatories (e.g. alleve).
There is no contraindication of having Ulthera treatment while taking BP medication as long as your BP is under control. The number of Ulthera treatments per year depend on many factors such as age, health, severity of the laxity, personal behaviors like diet, exercise, smoking, outdoor activities, and personal skin regimen. If your skin still has laxity, then another treatment in 4-6 months could be done. Typically, when you achieve optimal results I recommend that patients come back when they start to worsening laxity which is often in 1-2 years. If you wish to get every 6 months then there is no reason why you could not.
Hello, Thank you for your question. We typically won't treat more than twice a year. Your body can grow collagen for a full 6 months after treatment. However you will need to consult with your physician to determine the best course of action. You may find that you want to incorporate something else into your treatment plan. Good luck!
Hello,There is no contraindication to taking blood pressure medication while being treated with Ultherapy. Each individual is different depending on their laxity and skin quality. Typically we wait 3 months before re-treating a patient unless they have moderate to severe skin laxity. I recommend you discuss your case with your physician.Contraindications are open wounds or lesions, severe cystic acne in the treatment area, or if you have implanted active devices like pacemakers or defibrillators near the targeted area. Good luck!
In our practice we see patients 3 months after their Ulthera treatment. If a second treatment is recommended we will retreat at 3 months but no sooner. There could be a possibility of building scar tissue and generally patients are continuing to generate new collagen over 6 months after an ulthera treatment. Best of luck!
I love that you are happy with your Ultherapy results! We see such great skin tightening with this procedure. There is no reason that you cannot have Ultherapy while on BP meds, unless your blood pressure is not well controlled. I have many clients who do 1-2 treatments per year. Theoretically, you can do as many as you want, although it makes sense to wait at least 4 months in between treatments on the same area in order to assess the final results.
Thank you for your question. There is no known contraindication to Ultherapy with patients on blood pressure medications. However, I would suggest you discuss your medication list with the treating physician prior to your Ultherapy. At our clinic in Ottawa we have had many patients repeat Ultherapy due to their favourable results. However, we like to wait 6-12 months between treatments to allow full collagen remodelling. All the best.
Thank you for your question. There is no contraindication of having Ultherapy treatment while taking blood pressure medication. Usually a patient can be treated every 3-6 months depending on their skin laxity and quality. I recommend having a consultation with an expert to discuss your concerns and determine to the best treatment plan for you. Best of Luck!
I have been very disappointed with Ultherapy. We tried increasing the treatments to full power to see if results improved and found it very painful but did not improve results. I had the company treat me at regular power which showed no improvement. I had the company treat me at full...
If your swelling was from ultherapy, I would expect that it would have started shortly after your treatment. I suspect that the botox took effect around day 4 or 5, and that is why you noticed the delay between your treatment and the swelling. Over-treatment of the forehead has caused y...
Thank you for your question. No, chin and neck exercises will not benefit your results. For optimal results a combination of treatments is suggested, such as RF treatments, lasers, and microneedling/PRP. This is to help tighten and improve skin tone. I recommend having an evaluation with...
