I had 2 treatments of ulthera and I m very pleased but I take blood pressure medicine is it safe to get more treatments?
Answer: Ultherapy - maintenance treatments/combining with other treatments I am so glad you are pleased with your results. It is reasonable to repeat ultherapy yearly or even every six months. Energy-based devices work by creating injury to the skin; the skin responds with wound healing and inflammation, and this creates a tightening effect. The reason for waiting is that you want your skin to have a chance to fully heal before challenging it again. You might also consider alternating with different kinds of energy-based treatments. The type of injury Ultherapy creates is tiny points at difference depths, as superficial as just under the top layer of the skin and as deep as the underlying supportive fascia. Laser and IPL-based treatments can work on the most superficial aspect of the skin. Radiofrequency works in the second layer of the skin (the dermis). We customize our treatments, and often combine them, based on which layer(s) are showing the most amount of aging. Taking blood pressure medication is not an issue with ultherapy. Medications that decrease wound healing and inflammation should be avoided. These include prednisone and otc anti-inflammatories (e.g. alleve).

Answer: Ultherapy There is no contraindication of having Ulthera treatment while taking BP medication as long as your BP is under control. The number of Ulthera treatments per year depend on many factors such as age, health, severity of the laxity, personal behaviors like diet, exercise, smoking, outdoor activities, and personal skin regimen. If your skin still has laxity, then another treatment in 4-6 months could be done. Typically, when you achieve optimal results I recommend that patients come back when they start to worsening laxity which is often in 1-2 years. If you wish to get every 6 months then there is no reason why you could not.

Answer: Ulthera Hello, Thank you for your question. We typically won't treat more than twice a year. Your body can grow collagen for a full 6 months after treatment. However you will need to consult with your physician to determine the best course of action. You may find that you want to incorporate something else into your treatment plan. Good luck!

Answer: Ultherapy and Contraindications Hello,There is no contraindication to taking blood pressure medication while being treated with Ultherapy. Each individual is different depending on their laxity and skin quality. Typically we wait 3 months before re-treating a patient unless they have moderate to severe skin laxity. I recommend you discuss your case with your physician.Contraindications are open wounds or lesions, severe cystic acne in the treatment area, or if you have implanted active devices like pacemakers or defibrillators near the targeted area. Good luck!

Answer: ULTHERA NJ In our practice we see patients 3 months after their Ulthera treatment. If a second treatment is recommended we will retreat at 3 months but no sooner. There could be a possibility of building scar tissue and generally patients are continuing to generate new collagen over 6 months after an ulthera treatment. Best of luck!
