Hi there! I have brown spots cause by sun exposure and a few that are sticking out like a mole. Would the alexandrite laser work in removing them? If so, what would be the best treatment parameters for the best results, in terms of fluence and pulse width? I have a fitzpatrick skin type II/III and i am 20 years old. Thanks in advance!

Answer: Brown Spots Thank you for your question. We offer a variety of treatments including Alexandrite laser, Fractional CO2 and Endymed Intensif for aging skin with brown spots. It’s difficult to say with a formal evaluation. I recommend getting a in person consultation with a board-certified dermatologist.

Answer: Treatment Options for Brown Spots Thank you for your question. It is very hard to give you a great answer without seeing you, but the alex laser is definitely a potential option. My concern is that you are saying that the spots are raised like moles. With lasers like the alex or picoway, we can remove pigment, not elevation; so, we may use erbium or another method. Your first step should be to see a dermatologist to have the spots checked to be sure that it is safe to remove them with a laser. Next, do some research to ensure you see a reputable physician with experience using lasers. Best of luck to you!
