Can I have sclerotherapy on an upper arm vein? (photo)

Question

I have a reticular vein on my upper, inner arm that sticks out. Can I have it removed? What would be the risks? Would it affect other veins in the arm? Would it affect IVs in the future?

Sclerotherapy can be done on the upper arm vein posted.  This is strictly a cosmetic procedure and there is no medical reason to do it unless you do not like the looks of it.  Sclerotherapy of this vein should not affect any other veins in your arm or future need for IV's.

Thank you for your photo. I recommend looking into Sclerotherapy. The treatment involves an injection of a chemical that will cause your vein to contract and become scarred internally. The vein will disappear from your body after some time. Generally, it takes about 8-10 weeks for the vein to disappear. Please make sure you seek treatment from a board-certified dermatologist.
