Can screws be taken out out after sliding genioplasty without cutting the mentalist muscles again?

If you are allowed to take the screws out after sliding genioplasty, can this be done without cutting the mentalis muscles again? Do you have to wear the headband again? Do you have to go under general anesthesia again? Will there be as much swelling?

You are a candidate for either procedure and can achieve the same results with a chin implant or sliding genioplasty. Some patients have a preference for one procedure over the other, but results will be same in your case.

The sliding genioplasty is the best treatment for lengthening the chin. It can be performed without any horizintal advancement. Facial implants are not well suited for vertical enhancement.

You have a history of a deep bite and there is evidence of a recessive chin in your photos so you are a candidate for a sliding genioplasty. Since the amount of chin recession is not severe, a chin implant is a possibility as well. Either will improve your overall facial balance.
