Advice on vertical chin height enhancement with minimal horizontal advancement?

I'm seeking advice on methods for increasing chin height without much horizontal advancement. Are custom chin implants or the miniwing osteotomy suitable options for this?

You have a history of a deep bite and there is evidence of a recessive chin in your photos so you are a candidate for a sliding genioplasty. Since the amount of chin recession is not severe, a chin implant is a possibility as well. Either will improve your overall facial balance.

You may be a candidate for a second sliding genioplasty. The plates and screws are removed and a second genioplasty is performed and further advancement can be achieved. Jaw surgery is not recommended since you have a normal bite.

Personally, I don’t think wearing a retainer will have any impact, but different providers will have different opinions. If you have had surgery or are about to have surgery, you should ask your surgeon. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
