Bruising over 1 year after otoplasty - what could have caused this? (photo)

I had otoplasty approximately 16 months ago, and today I discovered that 2 little bruises appeared on my antihelix. What could've caused this. Could a stitch have snapped? I can't see my surgeon as I moved to a different city.

That said, there is a bit of relaxation of somebody's otoplasty results, between 2 to 4 mm, during the first year of healing. If there is a significant amount of asymmetry between your right ear and your left ear, you may consider re-asking your question with both ears in the photograph. I hope...

In general, somebody does not experience a significant change in the appearance of their ear following conchal cartilage harvesting for revision rhinoplasty surgery. Since I do not see a significant difference in the photos that you posted, please consider re-asking your questions with better...

Can a TMJ arthroscopy, lip reduction and otoplasty be completed in one session?

I suspect you should consider having your TMJ arthroscopy performed at a separate surgery. Once you have healed from your TMJ surgery, otoplasty and lip reduction may be then considered. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Based on your photos, you appear to have a well-formed anti-helix on both sides, and perhaps your conchal bowls are deep causing your ears to protrude, more on your right than your left. Otoplasty surgery with Conchal setback sutures may be considered for allowing your ears to be less visible on...

When you remove the stud, if the piercing hole is not unsightly and large, it may be best to leave it alone and consider re-piercing your earlobe in a more favorable position. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr Joseph
