How to improve loose skin around mouth? (photos)

Question

I am 37 and already have significant sagginess around my mouth. What is the best way to fix the sagginess and jowls at my age? I have tried nasal fold filler but it didn’t help much.

Morpheus 8 is a non-invasive skin and soft tissue tightening treatment that is consistently amazing in our patients. We use the Morpheus to exact fractional induced RF into the skin or tissue in order to tighten collagen and stimulate contraction of the tissue. For acne scars, it is quite useful to build collagen in patients who have atrophic scars but is not very productive for ice-pick scars which require TCA Cross. For tissue tightening, Morpheus is ideal for the face and neck and we often combine it with CO2 laser or Ultherapy to further enhance results. Chemical peels and skin resurfacing should be done at least 5 to 7 days after, but can be performed earlier, depending on treatment severity. Avoid exfoliating skin treatments before Morpheus and expect a period of 2-4 weeks for skin contraction to set in.

A combination approach would give the most improvement. Deep wrinkles and smile lines can be improved with a combination of Botox and/or fillers for the lines themselves and to build anatomical support with Sculptra for collagen building. Ultherapy is a great skin tightening device, but works best in combination with other treatments like J Plasma, RF treatments, lasers, microneedling/PRP, salt facials, Cosmelan for skin tightening and improve skin tone. Fillers should give you some improvement for the jowls and lower face.  If you are not seeing acceptable results you may want to add another treatment such as FaceTite which uses RF technology to tighten skin up to 40%.  Results can be optimized by including Morpheus8 treatments as well which improve skin tone and texture.

Treating the smile lines with filler would not be expected to do much for the kind of problem seen. So, no surprises there. The appropriate choice of a filler placed in the proper location in the perioral region and along the jawline would likely result in gratifying results. Strategically placed fillers can lift and contour the face but must be done by an experienced injector. Biostimulatory injections with Sculptra also help. Filler injected into the nasal fold will not help. Thermage radio frequency skin tightening can firm and lift the jawline. Please consult a cosmetic dermatologist who offers these treatments.
