I damaged the right side of my alar. There is no shape to it, it's just flat unlike my left side which has a ball shape and it puffs out a little which make my left bigger then my right and my nostril is bigger on the side also. I was just wondering what it would cost to fix and the consultation fee or if i even need to come in?
Answer: Closed and Atraumatic Technique in Rhinoplasty Hello, Thank you for your question. You seem to have a very thick skin. Thick skinned patients can also have a rhinoplasty but the process needs more control and may require extra treatment before and after the surgery. The aim is to make the skin thinner. Thanks to these treatments positive and satisfying results can be achieved after a rhinoplasty by the right surgeon. An in person examination is essential. Based on your photos you may benefit from the overall reduction of your nose, dorsal hump removal and refinement of a tip. Breathing issues can be addressed at the same time. An attractive and natural looking nose, that suits your face can be achieved by the help of the Closed and Atraumatic Technique in Rhinoplasty, which minimizes swelling and bruises, maximizes healing, prevents tissue damage and eliminates a scar on the columella. Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photographs, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty which can be performed by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your lower nose. This can be designed to help improve your nasal symmetry. Cost varies based on geographic region and surgeon expertise. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and not just a computer animation system. You should be able to view numerous pictures of actual patients with noses similar to yours performed by your surgeon. If you cannot find enough real before and after pictures, then consider continuing your search for a surgeon. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. FACS Harvard-trained plastic surgeon

Answer: My nose is messed up, what procedure do I need A closed rhinoplasty approach can accomplish narrowing and refining the nasal tip cartilages, narrowing the bridge and shaving down the dorsal hump. Thick skin prevents refinement in the nasal tip, so it's important to have realistic expectations.
