Hello Drs, recently I noticed hollowing of the mid-face area (periorbital region down to nasolabial folds). Skin feels "lax" but I think it's volume loss. Questions: 1) I'm 30, live a VERY healthy lifestyle (exercise 5x/wk, low body fat no smoking/alcohol, organic food etc) are these changes normal at 30? Feels early; I'm depressed, worried, & feel ugly. 2) Would filling the mid face area also address the deepening nasolabial folds? 3) What are best "anti-aging" filler procedures to perform?
Answer: What filler would you recommend for mid face hollowing and deepening nasolabial folds? If you truly do have volume loss in your cheeks/ midface then either dermal fillers such as Voluma or cheek implants can be very helpful to replace cheek volume and add shape. It sounds like you are very active and fit. The only downside of being in great shape is that we tend to lose volume in our cheeks and midface earlier in life. This is not unusual. Seek a consultation with a plastic surgeon experienced in both midface fillers and cheek implants to determine which option might work best for your specific situation. I hope this information is helpful for you.Stephen Weber MD, FACSDenver Facial Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Midface Volume Loss Juvederm Voluma is an exellent choice for what you describe and what is visible on the photos. A three dimensional view would be more helpful in your evaluation.it appears that you may have lost mid faceial volume which is certaily hastened by maturity and regular exercise. I would not use Juverm for your nasolabial areas. Juvederm Ultra or Juvederm Ultra Plus would most likely be a better choice. Without examining you it is a little difficult to know for sure which would bebetter for your nasolabial areas.the Juvederm Voluma usually lasts one and a half years to two years and the Juvederm Ultra or Ultrapulse can last a year or so.

Answer: Voluma is an excellent choice of filler for mid face hollowing. Juvederm Voluma is a new FDA-approved hyaluronic acid filler, which is expected to last 1.5 to 2 years once injected. It has much greater viscosity than Juvederm Ultra and Restylane, and it serves to lift and enhance the cheeks. Properly injected, it can not only reduce the hollow appearance of the cheeks as we age (which appears somewhat more prematurely in athletes), but it also helps lessen the appearance of the nasolabial folds. The latter may be further filled after the Voluma injection is completed, using a 'thinner' filler such as Juvederm Ultra or Juvederm Ultra Plus, depending on the severity of the folds.

Answer: REVOLUMIZING THE FACE We do lose facial violume as we mature. Lots of exercise can accenturate this appearnce. Juvederm is the filler of choice for those new to fllers. If youi like wjhat you see, then tyou can move to Voluma, an exvellent filler with about a 1.5y longevoity. For those experienced with fillers, we can concsider fat transfer or Siliocne Microdroplet. Answer: What filler would you recommend for mid face hollowing and deepening nasolabial folds? It is hard to give you exact advice without seeing you, but you may need cheek implants or a temporary filler. I am not sure if your midface is actually hollow or if your cheeks are flat and need shaping! If you would like to send photos for evaluation, feel free.
