Will Microneedling get rid of the extremely large pores on my cheeks? (photos)

Question

I have extremely large pores as a result of very oil skin. Will microneedling be able to significantly reduce the size of my pores and give me porcelain smooth skin? What are the possible side effects of this procedure? What is the worst thing that can happen to my skin if this procedure were to "go wrong"? How many treatments would I need to undergo in order to see tangible results? Is the procedure worth it?

Morpheus 8 is a non-invasive skin and soft tissue tightening treatment that is consistently amazing in our patients. We use the Morpheus to exact fractional induced RF into the skin or tissue in order to tighten collagen and stimulate contraction of the tissue. For acne scars, it is quite useful to build collagen in patients who have atrophic scars but is not very productive for ice-pick scars which require TCA Cross. For tissue tightening, Morpheus is ideal for the face and neck and we often combine it with CO2 laser or Ultherapy to further enhance results. Chemical peels and skin resurfacing should be done at least 5 to 7 days after, but can be performed earlier, depending on treatment severity. Avoid exfoliating skin treatments before Morpheus and expect a period of 2-4 weeks for skin contraction to set in.

Microneedling is an excellent procedure to smooth pores. I would recommend going to an experience provider. The only "gone wrong" microneedling procedures were the ones done at home by nonprofessionals. Microneedling is a trauma to the skin. It needs to be treated as a medical procedure. Following your providers after care is also very important. You will see results after the first treatment. A series of 3-6 treatments will be needed for complete correction.Microneedling is an excellent treatment to resurface the skin, induce collagen production, and to strenghten and tighten the skin.Hope this helps!

Microneedling with PRP is a good treatment option for enlarged pores, uneven skin texture, and acne scars. I would also consider adding a retinol to your at home skicare regimen which will also help with the pores.

I choose a particular laser based upon the size of the pore, skin type of the patient, and expectations. I find that the most reliable method is with INFINI RF, micro needling using energy. This beats all my Fraxel lasers and chemical peel techniques. Very little downtime, and it is ideal for small to medium size pores. Fraxel 1927 comes in a close second in the high density setting.
Chemical peels such as TCA (70-100%) placed focally in the pores is an excellent treatment for large pores. Fully ablative laser are excellent, but the downtime is long. I use both erbium and CO2. Fractional CO2 medium density can work, but you require 3-6 sessions. More in the pore section in the web reference. The risk benefit ration of different treatments will be discussed in detail by your dermatologist or plastics- it depends largely on who is performing the treatments as to the results you will obtain. 
Pore size reduction treatments should be tailored according to the patient IMO.
