Today i saw a external cut on my nose after rhinoplasty... Its been 5 days post op and ive never seen it. The only reason i saw it was because of some tape becoming loose and opening. It doesnt look extremley deep but it makes an impact on how the nose looks... Will it look like this perminently? My doctor did not mention anything about it and i am not sure why.... I am contacting him asap but im wondering why he would make this incision and if it will cause an indent in my nose

Answer: This appears to be a bruise at the edge of your nasal splint.
Most plastic surgeons have a policy for when patients have to pay for their elective cosmetic surgery. There is usually a statement about refunds as well. If you have changed your mind about going ahead with your surgery then speak directly to your doctor about this issue.
It is not ideal to sleep face down so early. Your splint should protect you reasonable well for the first week. It is doubtful things could be reset in the office if the nose has moved but more likely you would need another minor surgery .
It is normal that there is some increased swelling after the splint is removed. If you liked your nose the first few days after the splint came off, that should be a good sign that you should like things as the swelling starts going down. You still have somewhere around 20% of swelling present...
