I've booked a vbeam session in a few days in response to a few PIE lesions. I've been told it's recommended to discontinue most retinoids before such treatments because they are photosensitizing. On the other hand, I've also read that adapalene in particular is unique in that it does not photosensitize skin. I'm very, very reluctant to stop my adapalene for fear of my acne returning. Is it truly necessary for me to discontinue its usage or would that be unnecessary? Thanks for your advice!

All of these lasers can rejuvenate the skin. The V-Beam is the gold standard for redness. If you are concerned with pigmentation you might prefer the Fraxel or Clear & Brilliant. Please consult a board certified dermatologist with experience with lasers for the best cosmetic results
