Are dermal fillers safe if I have surgical plates and screws in my face from a previous jaw surgery?

Dermal fillers would normally not be placed to the same depth as surgical plates and screws on the face, so there should not be a problem having fillers injected in someone with plates and screws in place.

I have used fillers in patients who have had reconstructive surgery, and, to date, have had no problems.   I would go to someone board certified that uses strict sterile technique and uses HA fillers that aren’t permanent.

Yes, you should be able to have filler treatment safely even with surgical hardware in place.  I encourage you to see an experienced board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your concerns.  Be sure to mention your previous surgery.

As long as your fillers are done by someone who is extremely proficient such as a plastic surgeon then you're most certainly safe to use the fillers on your face and body. I hope this helps and good luck from New York City plastic surgery
