Two BBLs-- why has the fat reabsorbed?

Ideal candidates are at a stable weight,  in good health , and have excess fat in some parts of the body and too little in other regions.  Gaining weight before the procedure is to no advantage and when you lose weight again the fat cells will shrink just like the donor site fat cells.  Typically, the transferred fat results in a significant increase in volume of the body site being treated.

Hi Raquel,Thank you for your question and sorry to hear about your issues with the long lasting results.  Most patients can expect to retain about 2/3 of the fat transferred during a BBL.  This an average, with some keeping more or less than others.  It would be helpful if you could post before and after pictures with each procedure.  Many patients get used to the volume that is transferred right after surgery, but this will certainly not be your ultimate result. It is also hard to remember how you looked prior.  Reviewing photos with your surgeon is helpful to understand how your buttock has changed in shape.  It's hard to imagine that your buttock is back to its baseline after two BBLs.The decrease in size that you see in the first 2 months is normal.  Once those fat cells have survived beyond 6 weeks, they are generally considered permanent.  Further decrease in size is the result of either weight loss, leading to decreased fat cell size, or reduced swelling, which can occur over 6 months to 1 year.I've attached a video describing this in more detail.Hope this helps.Best,Dr. B

It is a bit unusual for your fat to "disappear" so long after surgery. Perhaps you lost weight in between?
