Would you say my stomach is fixable with cavitation, wood therapy, or any other non surgical treatments or would a second round or tummy tuck be needed to fix my issues? I have unevenness, and horrible pink splotchiness and I don’t want to have to risk more surgery. A little info: I am 2 years post op BBL (first round) 5’6” 170 pounds
Answer: Uneven after BBL Dear Straightforward946155, I would have to examine you but it appears that this is a contour irregularity after liposuction. This happens often when areas the undergo liposuction are not feathered appropriately. The good news is that it can be fixed and I have done so with good results before. While there is always a chance for contour irregularities with liposuction, someone who takes their time and uses the appropriate sized cannulas should give you a superb result.I have all my patients wear compression garments and I use multiple sized cannulas to feather out the result. Answer: Liposuction results To make a quality assessment regarding the outcome of a plastic surgery procedure we generally always need to see a complete set of proper before and after pictures. If you don’t have before and after pictures, then ask your surgeon to forward the pictures they took. There are no non-surgical options to improve the outcome of your previous liposuction. Delivering consistent quality, liposuction and fat transfer results is more difficult than most people realize. The number of plastic surgeons who truly mastered these procedures or in a small minority. Revision work is many times more difficult than Primary Liposuction. Improving poorly done. Liposuction is generally done with Revision, Liposuction, fat, transfer, or a combination of both. Sometimes converting the procedure to a skin tightening operation like attack may be an option as well. Being board-certified and plastic surgery with years of experience does not mean somebody has mastered any one single procedure, especially not procedures, like liposuction and fat transfer. Provider selection is absolutely paramount to minimize undesirable outcomes. Considering that revision work is much more difficult than primary Liposuction provider selection for Revision Work needs to be done very carefully, and this often requires having multiple in person, consultations before choosing a provider. Defined the best provider. I generally recommend patient start the process by having multiple in person, consultations with plastic surgeons in their community. The more consultations, you have the more likely you are to find the best provider. During each consultation, ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before and after pictures of previous patients who had similar body characteristics to your own. An experienced plastic surgeon should have no difficulty showing you the before and after pictures of at least 50 previous patients. a highly experienced surgeon should in fact have access to hundreds or preferably thousands of before and after pictures to choose from. There’s no correct number of consultations needed to find the best provider. The more consultations you schedule the more likely you are to find the best provider for your needs. I generally recommend people avoid virtual consultations whenever possible and highly recommend against traveling long distances for elective surgical procedures, unless absolutely necessary. Considering that revision work is many times more difficult than primary Liposuction recognize that any attempt at revision can make things worse if you’re not in the hands of someone with sufficient skill and experience. The degree of improvement that can be had after poorly done Liposuction depends, primarily on the patient’s candidacy for liposuction in the first place, and how the first procedure was performed. The most difficult revision cases are on patients who were not good candidates for Liposuction, and had aggressive previous procedures. I wish I could be more optimistic. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
