Answer: Hair transplantation into scar If you have recently had an injury, the hair may grow back (although it may grow back thinner or a slightly different texture). If you have a scar with permanent hair loss, hair transplantation into a scar can yield excellent results. Some scars (for example, thickened "rubbery" keloid-type scars), will not support new hairs, but as long as there is adequate blood supply to the scar area, individual follicular transplant is a good solution. There may be a role for scalp micro-pigmentation (tattooing) along with transplantation to give the best appearance of density.

Answer: Hair loss after injury Dear james23231Both temporary and permanent hair loss are possible after traumatic injury such as falling off a bike. Be sure to have the area examined by a physician to ensure that there is no infection as this is the most important short term consideration. If the injury was minor and affecting mostly the upper skin layers, hair may grow back. Deeper injuries are often associated with permanent hair loss. Your physician can guide you as to whether hair loss is permanent or temporary. In general, if hair loss remains at a time one year after your injury, it is likely permanent. There are options for permanent injuries, including hair transplantation and scalp micro pigmentation.Hoping this is helpful,
