The back surgery hardware should not be a deterrent to any procedure completed on the abdomen. This would include liposuction, abdominoplasty, or non-invasive body contouring procedures. Cavitation is a radiofrequency treatment claiming to result in "body slimming". I would caution you to curb your expectations with this type of treatment. While it might be safe, it is likely to result in much less than expected results. The most effective non-surgical treatment modality for body contouring is Coolsculpting and even Coolsculpting has limited results. You might want to save your money for a more tested and effective treatment. Or maybe a clothing accessory that will result in a more noticeable change.
There is nothing inherent to prior back surgery that would limit your ability to have certain cosmetic procedures on your abdomen. Cavitation as I understand it uses radiofrequency energy to kill fat cells. Regardless of the risk of that specific therapy, I would question the decision to go forth with it. Such procedures do not have a lot of evidence, can have significant pain and downtime and provide a limited result. If you are interested in non-invasive fat reduction, you might try CoolSculpting instead. The technology is now widely available and is far less painful and easier to recover from than RF modalities. The presence of back screws would have no bearing on your ability to have CoolSculpting.Best,Dr. Pyle
Thank you for the question.Although, I think you meant an abdominal procedure as a tummy tuck or Liposuction? It will be best if a physical examination would take place in order to determine which procedure and technique would be best for your case.Dr. Campos
