I am three and a half months post Vaser lipo on abs, sides and back--360 lipo--and I still have hard swelling. Is this normal?

The final results of the procedure are typically most noticeable 2-4 months following the #Vaser. The lumps should diminish with time. If not, your doctor can provide suggestions for this concern. In-office medi-spa treatments may be an option. If you are not satisfied with the results at  this point in time, it's best to discuss such with your doctor. Typically, it's best to wait 6  to 12 months depending on the reason for #revision. It's best that your plastic surgeon is highly-experienced with both #Vaser #liposuction and liposuction revisions. Additionally, you should feel confident and comfortable with the doctor you choose. Whether it is the same doctor who did your original surgery, or, you feel it necessary to seek a new one. With any surgical #procedure and #revision, there are some risks of unhappy outcome or other complications which your surgeon should discuss with you during your consultation. Your surgeon can recommend the best solutions for you based on your current result.

It is not uncommon for patients to develop hard areas or lumpiness after surgery. This most commonly occurs in an area where some of the fat cells have died and scar tissue forms.  This may take 6 months or more to resolve and is usually facilitated by massage the treatments you have already tried.  Less commonly a hard area of swelling can be cause by fluid that collects under the skin.  In this case, it may require drainage with a needle for treatment.  Your best bet is to return to your surgeon for an exam so he/she can tell you exactly what is going on and what needs to be done.
