Correcting poorly done Liposuction is far more difficult than most people realize. Revision work is many times more challenging than primary procedures. If you’ve already had two rounds of Liposuction than the chance of having any significant improvement from doing more, the same is low. There’s always the ability to make some improvements, but whether this justifies having another procedure is another question. More important than any other variable is providers selection. Because your previous procedures made things worse your situation is now much more difficult to improve. Simply the ability to find the right plastic surgeon to be working with is a daunting task on its own. Unfortunately, most patients are not very good at selecting the right provider. Not that it’s an easy task for anyone but provider selection is in the end the most important variable. Whether it’s worth trying to improve your outcome or not it’s something you need to decide. Many plastic surgeons will have overly enthusiastic beliefs that things can be improved. I suggest during in person consultations, you insist providers, open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before, and after pictures of previous patients who had similar body characteristics. If the provider can show you an impressive number of revision outcomes that had significant improvements under patients who have similar characteristics that it may be worthwhile to have another attempt. Recognize that any attempt to make things better can also make things worse. This becomes more likely the more complex and difficulty situation is. The number of plastic surgeons who approach mastery of Liposuction is in reality quite small. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
