I had a Juverderm injection a few weeks ago and I found out about 10 days after my injection that I am pregnant. Can this harm my baby?
Answer: Juvederm Juvederm is not recommended during pregnancy because it is an elective procedure and no studies have been performed to test its safety. With that said, there has also been no evidence of it causing harm to a fetus.

Answer: Juvederm during first weeks of pregnancy Dear samankh222, Most physicians would not inject any type of soft tissue filler, Botox, neuromodulator or even perform any laser procedure for aesthetic reasons during pregnancy. Although there are no known specific risks of simple sugars such as Juvederm on the fetus and developing baby, it is just wise not to perform any procedures that cause pain and discomfort and foreign products in the system during gestation. As you had your Juvederm 10 days prior to realizing you were pregnant I would not at this point do anything but leave the body to its own devices and naturally remove the Juvederm product over time. There are no known studies that link the use of Juvederm to any kind of a fetal or baby abnormalities or increase instance of miscarriage. So, I would relax, disclose and discuss this with your obstetrician/gynecologist and I’m sure that you’ll have a healthy baby and you can concern yourself with your aesthetic appearance once you are no longer pregnant. I hope this information has been of some assistance and best of luck. For more information, please review the link below. R. Stephen Mulholland, M.D. Certified Plastic Surgeon Yorkville, Toronto

Answer: Juvederm and pregnency Although I would not use any fillers of any type during a pregnancy, I seriously doubt this will have any problem for you whatsoever. Juvederm is a natural substance and its presence in the body will almost certainly NOT hurt you or your baby. Talk to your Plastic Surgeon and quit worrying. My Best, Dr C
